END-USERS

I see the obligation to…

  • Follow accessibility guidelines to make sure my designs are not excluding or discriminating anyone
  • Exclude harmful and negative stereotypes that could harm society
  • Base my designs on accurate data and facts
  • Find the most suitable medium to present my designs while protecting the environment

CLIENTS

I see the obligation to…

  • Provide the best work I can produce
  • Treat them with respect and agree on a fair fee for both parties
  • Avoid working on assignments that create a conflict of interest between clients or myself
  • Keep clients’ projects’ confidential unless I have their approval

MYSELF

I see the obligation to…

  • Work on projects with clients that respect me and the value of my work
  • Turn down clients whose work is morally unacceptable to me
  • Provide work that meets high quality and ethical standards
  • Treat design with caution as it’s a powerful and influential tool 

CO-WORKERS

I see the obligation to…

  • Treat others as I would wish to be treated in the same situation
  • Support fair and open competition and acknowledge when other designers are a better fit for a project
  • Never take credit for someone else’s designs or creative concepts and strategies
  • Give constructive feedback to fellow designers and opt they would do the same for me

VENDORS

I see the obligation to…

  • Treat them with respect and agree on a fair fee for both parties
  • Allow them to pitch for a project to keep and develop stronger relationships
  • Be respectful of their work, resources and never take advantage of their time
  • Recognize great work and recommend them to others

SOCIETY

I see the obligation to…

  • Be open to different points of view, backgrounds, and cultures, and avoid negative stereotyping
  • Create designs that bring positive outcomes to society
  • Reject projects that may be harmful to society or the environment
  • Be mindful of the environment by minimizing the use of unnecessary resources
